All You Need To Know About Your Wedding Registry!
First comes love, then comes engagement, then comes a million to-dos for wedding planning! We have clients who ask about a wedding registry all of the time so we thought it was about time to put together a wedding registry blog to help guide you through the process. While putting together a list of your dream necessities for your home as a married couple may seem exciting, it can often be overwhelming and stressful. No worries though, we're here to help break it down a little bit before you try to build your registry on your own.
Where Do I Register?
When thinking of where to register, there are a few things that are important to consider. First, let's think of places that fulfill more needs than one. While there are certain places that may have the specific bedding you want or a china piece you've been eyeing, it is often more beneficial to find places that can meet multiple of these wants! Second - return policies, easy-to-navigate websites, and post-wedding perks and discounts are also some things to be on the lookout for!
A few places we have found to be great registry platforms are Amazon, Target, Zola, William Sonoma, The Container Store, MyRegistry, HoneyFund, and Crate & Barrel! While there are tons of good options outside of these, we just wanted to share some of our favs!
What Do I Register For?
From your master bathroom to your kitchen cabinets, to household tools, there are several necessities that need to be considered when putting your dream list together. You could be moving in together for the first time, or freshening up the space you already have. Either way, you deserve to have the best wish list there is! It can be easy to get caught up in wants vs. needs - so here is a quick breakdown of what we have found to be some of the top must-haves for each space!
KITCHEN - Drinkware, silverware (Pro-tip: register for 2 sets if it is your everyday use so you never run out of forks when hosting!), dishes, pots + pans, utensils, measuring cups, serving sets, electric mixer, crockpot, toaster, air-fryer, coffee maker, bakeware, storage containers! In the kitchen, let's think about quality over quantity. Investing in pots + pans that will last years upon years is more than worth it. It's also nice to throw in some basic, neutral-colored plates + glasses that can fit any occasion. (P.s. - we didn't forget about the wine glasses! You may also want to add some specialty glasses like margarita and martini glasses, and a pair of champagne flutes for special occasions!)
BEDROOM - bedding, throw blankets, candles, diffusers, and throw pillows are the perfect touches to make your room as a married couple feels refreshed and cozy! Also, throw in some towel sets and bath mats to make your bathroom feel the same!
HOUSEHOLD ITEMS - vacuum cleaner (have you seen the Cordless Dyson), iron, steamer, and Alexa devices are a few essentials that will help make sure all of your bases are covered!
MISC ITEMS - ladders, luggage (variety of sizes and needs - this is great to have for the honeymoon), drills, saws, extension cords, holiday decor to spruce up your home and the list goes on! Don't be afraid to register for something that seems so random - if you need it, put it on there!
